Rapid Routing benefits
Rapid Routing is a key part of the Hazmap Modeller product, demonstrating that the connectivity and function of pipelines is as vital as the as-built geometrical description of the position and orientation.
It is proving to be a highly cost effective way of producing as-built "CAD friendly" intelligent pipe data.
When applying as-built geometry to process plant proving the connectivity and function of pipelines is as vital as the geometrical description of the position and orientation.
- The additional routing functions are available:
- Support of user defined library of intelligent inline Tee elements
- Support of user defined Valve elements
- Ability to modify and save the attributes of the parameterised components
- A power user can lock parameterised components for general users
A Tee element is selected in the component list.
In this case we will also define the size parameters for subsequent use in routing this pipeline.

The orientation of the intersecting section of pipe is set as "up" via a rotation and a simple click and drag on the vertical centreline positions the whole component.
Rotations of any explict angle are possible e.g. 45 deg, 60 deg etc. Alternatively the tee can be rotated interactively around the main pipe centreline.
The principle is much the same with Valve gear. Additional parameters define the geometry of
- the body of the component
- the actuating handle and arm
- the flange assemblies
These can be set in three ways:
- explicitly using the parameter dialog
- interactively by manipulating the graphical overlay and comparing with the underlying component
- import from a CAD equipment catalogue

Routes can be saved and imported as static graphical overlays of variable colour.
The node defining the face of the tee intersection can be used to start a new as-built route whilst combining the integrity of pipe connectivity and geometry.
Tee's and valves can be added retrospectively to an existing route as required.
